Singapore

Languages - Singapore has four official languauges : English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. The population is over 75% Chinese, Malays and Indians constitute large minorities. Land - Lying just north of the equator and located between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea, Singapore is situated at the convergence of some of the world's major sea lanes. 1 22 N, 103 48 E.
Singapore became a member of the United nations on 21st September 1965.
Climate - Singapore has an equatorial climate, which is warm and humid all year round. It has 2 distinct monsoon seasons Northeastern monsoon from December to March and Southwestern monsoon from June to September.
Total Land Area - 697.1 sq km. Comprises one main island (617.1 sq km) and some 63 offshore islands.
